Downtown Fashion Show, September 20th, 7 p.m. at Central Place on the downtown mall The latest human and canine fashions for Fall were revealed at the show. There were nine participating stores, including the Dog & Horse Lovers Boutique! Proceeds benefited the Focus Women's Center.
Doggie Howl-o-ween, October 30th 5:30-8:30 pm Thank you to EVERYONE for making this event such a fantastic success!! We had 95 dogs turn out in the most unique and creative costumes! This was truly a wonderful community event that was made possible by the following local businesses: First, our wonderful sponsors-The Hook and CBS 19, ABC 16 & FOX 27, plus my event joint-coordinator, George Benford from Siips Wine & Champagne Bar! And, the following stores that stayed open late for the Doggie Trick-or-Treating (some of whom also generously donated costume prizes): Alakazam Toys, Angelo Jewelers, Boutique-Boutique, Caspari, Glo, Mazi Fashions, Mole Hole, The Paramount, Read It Again Sam, Sage Moon Gallery, Siips Wine Bar, Spring Street, Studio Baboo, Tuel Jewelers, Pearl, and Yves DeLorme! Plus a big thank you to Joe Rice from the City of Charlottesville for donating the lights and sound for our event! And, thank you again to our local celebrity judges: Dave Norris, Mayor of Charlottesville; Travis Koshko, Chief meteorologist at CBS 19; and Susanne Kogut, Director of Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA!!

Scariest costume: Conchita Moore with Tito as a Devil (won a $25 gift certificate donated by "Read It Again Sam")
Funniest costume: James Crawford with Oreo as The Incredible Hulk (won a beautiful handbag donated by Spring Street)
Prettiest costume: Becky Horal with Pennylane as Madonna (won a $50 gift certificate donated by Angelo Jelwers)
Most Handsome: Kerry Purcell with McNickey Dee as a Rap Star (won a $50 gift certificate donated by Tuel Jewelers)
Most Original: Emmie Wright with Hank as Stevie Wonder (won a silver dog charm and leather doggie pick-up bag donated by Studio Baboo)
Best Theme costume: Tina Gaines with Pattie-Ann, a Bernese Mtn. Dog pulling a fancy cart filled with other Bernese Mtn. Dog stuffed animals (won two tickets to A Christmas Carol donated by The Paramount Theater)
